The admin toolbar appears by default at the top of your WordPress website whenever you are logged in. For some (including me) this gets a little in the way, especially since it only offers a few shortcuts to tools available in the admin panel.

The admin toolbar in WordPress 3.5.1:

To disable this toolbar, just follow the next steps:
  • 1. Login to your WordPress admin panel (http://www.yourwebsite.com/wp-admin/)
  • 2. From the left menu, choose Users->Your Profile
  • 3. Under the Personal Options category, uncheck the Show Toolbar when viewing site checkbox
  • 4. Save the changes by clicking the Update Profile button at the bottom of the page
Unchecking the Show Toolbar when viewing site option:

This should be it. The toolbar is history now.
